Partly yes, partly no. I do plan to get help on the weapons, and perhaps on the scenery.
I'm gonna have to wrap the stairs all over with a collision plane...as it is, if you walk up to the underside of them, they can knock you out of the level somehow.
Wanna know how to drive a person INSANE?
Have them model tons and tons of railing, over a period of time which probably exceed 12 hours(not necessarily straight). I wouldn't be surprised if I've spent near 12 hours total working on all this wretched railing. It doesn't help that I have been insisting on having every point perfectly aligned to under .005 max units(actually, this helps in the long run, it makes it easier to divide the railing in to modular pieces, which can be assembled sorta like pipes) But now, I AM DONE WITH IT....(but I still need to go back and fix some railing found earlier in the level). If I ever lose it, you'll see me taking a baseball bat, and going up to railing along random ramps and stairwells, smashing it to pieces.
Expect a limited release of an uber-pre-alpha version to a select few people within the next week or two....
If you ask for it, you definitely wont get it.

big ass wireframe(8000x8000)
(I used one of my old geocities accounts because imageshack gags when i try to upload 64 megapixel stuff)
EDIT:right click and save it. It can crash some people's browsers, but windows image previewer can handle it for most.

....yes, there is a special/secret room in the vents, and yes, my methods of preventing access to its secrets are both simple and ingenious.
EDIT:
BSP to-do list:
-Add collision planes above and below the stairs.
-improve a handful of textures
-create glass texture, hopefully using the cubemap from goldeneye(Using the same cubemap will add to the [nostalgic?] feel of the level)
-add glass where needed
-rework a material property tag to make certain glass bullet proof but not explosion proof.
-perfect lighting
-final touches
After that:
Weapons
Doors(I have a low lag method which should allow non automatic player controlled doors to be implemented everywhere) It sounds odd, but I may be able to use a series of 10 hogs(actually, I'll probably use a cube vehicle) to control 20 -30 doors
Scenery
AND:hmm...just noticed that spartan8's runway map is a Featured Map on Halomaps.org; Not that its necessarily a bad thing, but when I release mine, people might draw incorrect conclusions.

heh...thanks...x1Yoshi1x wrote:oh okay just trying to help an awesome map makerhey Laser when yur done with that could yu remake the warehouse level from perfect dark remember when yur done with facility im not rushing yu
I already have plans for another map after this one. Think Dam, but mirrored in such a way that the area at the end of the Dam continues on, and is similar to the first half. It's still only on paper, and it's going to be more elaborate than facility.
If you are referring to the floor in the final room, I still plan to do a tad of touch-up, so all the tiles don't look exactly alike.martynball wrote:looks ace but the floor texture doesnt look very good. try makin like a brick floor with loads of rit in it. and a bit of fog would be good but i like the bump maping, are they your own textures?
And yes, most of the textures, and all of the bump maps are my own. With the exception of the steel-light texture seen on the railing. But I plan to be replacing that soon. I also plan to be adding a very pale greenish fog.
