Like I suggested...

When it's dead in space on this map, no engines. But in orbit on your map, go for it. :P

here we have the current model, new smoothing groups.. no overlapping faces... and no stupid vertexes
if any of u are very observant, spot whats been changed, apart from teh smoothing groups
Image
ross... ud better be happy now

Note:the centre blob hasnt lost those ridges that were there in the older pictude, they are there, but more subtle. mainly for ease of uv mapping to show the boundery between 2 textures ;)

YAY!

The ridges should be more pronounced around the blob though. and the front of the blob needs to be a little bit tapered into a long, narrow point. Then add the two on the front, make the ship less rough around the edges and she's good to go :P

just thought i'd point out a design fact... it's not a blob, it's a teardrop shape.

also, the cruiser is looking very good. if i had time i'd make an awesome undercarriage for it.

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D

O__o" nope. absolutely different things. there is no relation. and you should enjoy the parts i'll be giving you for the interior. they're not going to be the same parts as the sp/mp maps i'm doing (obviously) but will be modeled just as well.

I'll actually arrange the inside, I have a fair idea where I want things to go. I'll also help out with whatever else I can.

And without my crits, you wouldn't have got it looking so good :P

Oh, as for the Engineers... That's a great idea, but AI won't sync remember... We could maybe make them custom, killable scenery, have them set up with welders patching up the ship... I dunno. We can sort that out later.

a friend suggested we have a boarding vessel crashed into the side of the ship which can be a team's bse. im just concerned about weapons, as... its aperfect map for shotguns, but covies have no shotguns >_<... so idk

@ross. sure, u may have crits, but i find it REAALY goddamn annoying, how u boss me around like that. as this is MY project. i came up with the idea, inspired by bacon, u suggested covie ship, and thats it. atm i couldnt care less about the innards, i just wanna wurk on the outside. hurry up and get max ross, we need sum1 to actually get it ingame. and, tbh gmax+chimp is very limited >_<

oh and about the engineers... i gotta ask lightning how he did the monitor. or mb tiamat.

I thought a dropship in the damaged hangar bay, it's a more practical base as it doesn't cause such a bottleneck. And by the way, I had this idea long before you, but not the means to do it... Try searching "Ascendant Justice" by me and see what comes up.

As for human weapons, like I said, one Elite team (blue) has allied with us and so can be equipped with shotguns, assault rifles, etc. as well as standard Covie weapons. Maybe a H2 weapon set, actually.

before we start on the inside, huuuge question i want opinions (not just from u ross >_<) halo 2 covie style architecture, or halo 1 covie style architecture?

and btw ross. i had, ages ago, with devin, attempted to make an ascendant justice-styled map, back when i was a n00b at modeling... so we, lol failed completely

I vote a mix, H1 for the rooms we saw on T&R and H2 for the new ones.
