As is the case with many people, I've been working on maps recently. I made one map, much credit to Kirks for explaining stuff, but I don't have the needed Materials. For example, in the second render I have posted, the materials of the floor and stairs I found in other halo maps. The Materials I truely need, are oddly amiss. They can, however, be found in other maps, such as Sidewinder and blood gulth, the origin of much of structure ideas of this map. It seems like only Gearbox made maps are accessible, though.
Does anyone have an archive of the materials needed to texture a base?
Someone should post all of those to the internet... Now I have to find that HTM thing and figure something out there. Oh well, it should take a little effort to make a map...
EDIT:
Call me a n00b, but I stayed out of Halo modding until the HEK came around, the others seemed to offer only limited results... Where can I find the HMT?
EDIT 2:
Nevermind... I was looking for Halo Modding Tool, turns out it's Halo Mapping Tool... Google won't fix that...
Unexpectedly enough, people replied on the base I posted above, so I'll mention what each is. The first render, with the three defensive walls and the pit is the Red and Blue bases. They are both a fairly defensibble location, with a hole big enough to drop a warthog down. Each has two teleporters to transport one way to the middle base, which is featured int eh second render. The second base is a very defensible location, full of heavy weaponry, a massive base, and many tricks and traps. Obviously, the base starts on the grond at a blood gultch style entrance. A Warthog or Ghost can easily be driven atop the base to rid people resting on there. The main entrence leades into the first floor of a Sidewinder style base. Barriers decorate the area, though they can be used from either side due to their vertical slant. From the second floor, defenders have a small hole in the floor to drop grenades and bazooka shells down. Two ladders lead to the second and third floors nearby. The hallway continues to have only one more barrier before a three story staircase is reached. On botht he second and third floors, the opposing sides of the stair column is faced with two rows of teleporters, recieving from the opposite bases. The second floor is moderatley uneventful, bar the previously documented hole for dropping grenades down. THe trhid floor opens to reveal the outside area, with some cover. This is a sniper's perch, obviously. The entirity of the base is 544 units high, or for the less HEK educated, 54 and a half feet. That means that it will take a lot of intentional and well orchestrated effort to scale the base, but if it is captured, it makes getting the flag back much harder...
The map itself, which is also created, will be a densely forested map besides the trail, forrested to the degree that if you fall off the trail with a Warthog, you'll have a hell of a time getting back on...
