Do I NEED paintshop pro 8 to make maps?

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Do I NEED paintshop pro 8 to make maps?

I am watching the first tutorial on making a map and it gets to this part where he clicks on the box to the right and then he "erases" (thats what it looks like hes doing) the area where the grass will be. I dont know where any of these tools are in PSP7.

Plus, there are scales and such at the top that he adjusts but they are not there in PSP7 either.

Any ideas?
