Derringer WIP (completely Redone)

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

I would create a new plane. Shape the plane like the grip, select the polygon, and extrude it. Then with the new face selected, gently scale the face a little smaller. Keep doing that, every time extruding the polygon out a little less and scaling the polygon down a little more. That will get you the rounded, extruded shape.

Thats exactly what I did the first time around, and it looked like a piece of low poly crap.

here's how i make the grip ussually i select the grip part that needs to be "ribbled" i raise iterations the you have twice as much vertexs in the grip but only half selected then just move em up

I think the grip looks pretty good. Nice job. :)

In "polygon" selection mode, select your polygon and click the "make planar" button.

you could do that, but you run the risk of making others non-planar when using that tool. best bet is to align verts manually.

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D

Then just select every polygon in your model and click the "make planar" button. It's a long shot, but with some luck you could end up with a very appealing gray blob.

If you click them all as make planar, then it just flattens the whole model. Unless you were kidding lol. And just pick a vertice on the plane, and copy and paste 1 or more of it's axis coordinates (however much needs to line up.).

How can you align along angles then?

>.> draw edges/vertexes onto the grip (Idk what you'd call it in 3ds, I'm a Maya user) Then from that, extrude and do any necessary tweaking Easy peasy.
