Halo Exported Skins

I'm pretty new to modding, so I'm not sure about this one.

If I export skins from a Halo map using HMT and put them on my map, is that considered ripping?

I don't want to create something illegal by mistake.

I think he just means to take a skin from lets say sidewinder, and put it in lets say prisoner. Thats not ripping because its staying within the limits of the origonal game.

I mean like taking the skin from the base of Bloodgulch, and using it in my own skin on my own self-modelled skin.

(of course you would probably want to make the skin bumped)
