its a little more complicated than that...
try modding halo pc before you start ce, thats a little simpler

yes, but you also have to make a ground texture, you have to do some stuff in sapien and geurilla before you're gonna be able to do anything with it 8)

Realy? After using the month trail for 3DS max 8 I gave up on Gmax cuz it ticks me off. No renders, it's very picky about welding the verticies, and you have to becarefull how you apply faces or Gmax will beep at you.

yeah, uh, don't mod pc. you'll just end up doing what everyone else has done 1,000,000 times before you.

here's what you do:
1) watch the CE tutorials
2) go to www.gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com
3) find posts by a moderator TheGhost, in his sig you will find links to more tutorials
4) come up with an original idea
5) do better with one map than any bg skins and logmods etc that anyone could do.

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D

snafubar is right, there is a huge ammount of creativity left in halo ce, but in halo pc, you have to find out some huge breakthrough to make an origonal mod these days.

i used gmax for some time before i got 3dsmax. gmax is just as good. there's nothing in max i didn't use in gmax, other than rendering. all my modeling is done with basic tools.
