Cyborg color changing
I recently started skinning again, (I hadn't done much in the past, due to lack of inspiration and free program) so I decided to try and at least improve the quality of the cyborg texture. Anyway, when I injected it, whenever I was farther away from the cyborg (modded BG so I could spawn them to look at it better) the color would change from white to black. Same thing happened with my sage-colored dead body. I tried without mipmaps, and it was really funky (sort of like a pink matrixy thing), and messed up my radar and health bar/shield. Any ideas? Does it have anything to do with the fact I'm using Gimp 2.0 and not Photoshop? Any advice is appreciated.

But that's not the problem....the problem was it would change to black when you got farther away. Also, I messed something up that even after putting back the backup dds file I still had an obnoxious, large gibberish square where the shield bar and radar should be, and the other cyborgs were "gibberishy". I reinstalled it before I realized to get a screenshot.

i had this prob as well a while back when i would walk away from my vehicles and marines they would turn black and then when u would walk back to them they would go back to their color that i skined them in.
after you skin something and your saveing it, in mip maps you will see
Generate MIP maps that must be clicked and then under that you will see
specify # MIP maps and the number will be 1 put that number to something like 8 or higher 8 is a nice round number.
Do not click under specify # MIP maps just put the number to 8 thats it and you will not see the black when you walk away.
hope this helps
