My first model...

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

My first model...

Post by farfalo »

This is my first model ever. I usually map but I decided to make an AK-47(sort of) instead right now. It isn't done. I still need to add some more details and fix a few vertex positions to prevent the weird texture mapping but other than that..it's half decent I guess.

Here:

Decent for a first, But I would suggest working on dimensions and angles right now. It seems as if the symmetry and perspective is modeled a tad wrong.

Fix taht up and post another screenshot. From there you can bevel, and add appropriate things (one of which is smoothing groups) and should have a skinless final. From that point you can just skin it.

I suggest you don't use PutFile to upload your images, use ImageShack because the links don't work for me.

Best site. Make an account (free). Up to 10mb a picture, many many extensions, and it will never reduce size of the picture.

You can quick link the images too.

------Just letting you know, because it is so much better than both photobucket and imageshack.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Yeah I know it's kind of boxy. I used the line modelling..I think it might be spline modelling or something I don't really know.

I'll start working on it again when I have some free time and I'll post another screenshot or two on a better image hosting site.

Thanks again guys :)
