Check in the main page of halomods under tutorials. From there, you will be able to select the hosted video tutorials made by Kirk. They will guide you through making a map. There are other tutorials in there as well. Also, try looking in the files section for other tutorials, under the tutorials section. If what your looking for is not in there, contact me on AIM and I'll help you. And by the way,"leaderacola".

Well, if you have Halo custom edition installed, then you'll need to download the Halo Editing kit. If you've already done so the 3 programs you need are already included. The only thing you need is 3dsmax 6 or 7, available at http://www.autodesk.com/.

VERY SIMPLIFIED TUTORIAL
1. Set up a working directory: C:/program files/microsoft games/halo custom edition/data/levels/[yourmapnamehere]/bitmaps/[yourbitmapnamehere] for your bitmaps directory, and C:/program files/microsoft games/halo custom edition/data/levels/[yourmapnamehere]/models/[yourmodelnamehere]
2. Photoshop/Paintshop: Create bitmap(your ground) in photoshop/painshop pro and save in your bitmaps directory.
3. 3ds Max: Create mountains, hills, and/or water in 3ds Max, save as a .max and export as a *.jms in your model directory.
4. Compilation: go to start>run>and type cmd and press enter. Navigate to your HaloCE root directory in the command prompt and type "tool.exe structure levels\data\[yourmapnamehere] [yourmapnamehere]"
5. Guerilla: Edit the new *.scenerio tag in Guerilla, save, and open in Sapien.
6. Sapien: Populate the level in Sapien(add trees, rocks, weapons, SPAWN POINTS
, and netgame flags/other).
7. Final Build: Open the command prompt and type "tool.exe build-cache-file levels\[yourmapnamehere] [yourmapnamehere]".
8. Open your level in Halo CE and play!(and test for bugs)
-When I say [yourmapnamehere] it means this is where you state the name of your map.-
Sorry this wasn't a great tutorial but I hope it gives you an outline of what you need to do. You WILL get errors when making your map, everyone does, but it's really fun once you get the hang of it.
Good luck making some good maps![/u][/b]
