Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Model help

Post by PhantomPossessed »

I make a model from milkshape and input it into a map but i fall through it and die from the height.

How do you make the model solid?

The model itself is always non-solid (and usually visible). The Collision Model is solid (and invisible). The Physics Model determines how the object interacts with it's environment (force put on the object vs weight and gravity, etc).

What you need is a collision model, but I have no idea how to make one or if it is even possible to import your own. I have been doing a bit with models lately and I've just been linking the coll tag to existing similar objects to get by while i learn more about models in general. Soon I will be in the same position as you wondering how to make a collision model.

I have seen similar questions floating around the forums, but havent searched too deep. If you find anything usefull regarding collision models please post. Probably not quite the answer you were hoping for, but i hope it helps :)

Edit: Yeah it looks like no one has been able to import custom collision models yet. There has been quite a bit of model knowledge going around the past few months though, hopefully some of that will expand in to the other modeling categories.
