How can I import/export items with Gmax?

I was wondering if there is a plugin, or something I can do in order to modyfy the gun and vehicle modles in Gmax, and play them in Halo Xbox? What I was planning on doing is importing a gun, and modifying the design, and then saving it and putting it back into the level it come from.
