UV map problems, & Normals?

Post by chrisrice »

I need some help, i'm working on my model of a BMW, i have the model compleeted and the UV texture map compleeted(in maya) but when i go to import it into the game the UV map doesn't get injected with the model, and the model appears to be transparant in some places(depending on which side you look at) i think it's the Normals facing the wrong way, but i don't quite know how to fix that in maya, can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? is there a specific steps and actions i have to do in maya before i export? (like triangulate, normalise....)
here's a pic of what it is suposed to look like:

here's an image of what it looks like in game:

i don't quite know what else to do.

It is because your obj file you export flips some of the normals and doesnt save and UVW co-ordinates. If you can get it to someone who has 3ds max then they could export it to an obj.
