Pulling a model out of halo for animating

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Pulling a model out of halo for animating

Post by dunmatt »

Hello all, after being introduced to RvB recently, my brother and I want to make a show of our own, rather than just record game footage in fraps, I figured I could just pull the models out of halo pc/ce and use maya to animate them. I got a copy of HMT and have goofed around with it just enough to know that it's harder to do than I'd hoped.

Would someone mind explaining, in simple terms, how I could get a MC (for example) out of halo and into maya? I'd greatly appreciate it. I've googled and it got me here, and some browsing found lots of tuts on how to take a model the other way, from maya to halo, but that doesn't really help me.

Thanks for the help.

Well for starters getting models out of HMT and making them whole is HARD!....some parts are in sections...up to maybe 30!!!1!
So you could try but the gbx model isn't very good. And I dont think there is a place where you can get the model.

Alrighty, well thanks for the info, guess I'll just have to learn modeling and come up with my own.
