Great model, on the cylinders for the barrel and scope, making those more like 8-10 sided would dramatically reduce your poly count if you wanted to insert them in game.

3667 isn't too bad, but you could definitly bring it down a lot. making those more like 8-10 sided would dramatically reduce your poly count, like sonictag said. Also, A wireframe shot would be good at this point :)

Thanks. Sonic, believe it or not, people at another forum actually wanted MORE sides. But on the front grip. The barell is 8 sides it just looks like more when smoothed. The scope is 12 sides. I guess I could lower that to 10 or maybe 8. Now I made the grip 12 sides and the polycount sky rocketed to 4551. :?

I'll have to thoroughly optimize it and get that as low as I can. But anyway the new pic in the first post is of the 12 sided front grip.

Lol, 12 side front grip?!! I make the front of the grips on my guns like 5 sided.. For animation you could just apply some textures to the gun and it would rock.

I dunno sonictag, I'm just trying to follow the crits I get.

Here is a quote from another forums.

"No use to spend 1000's of polies on ridges when the rest of it looks squary. In this case I think it's justified to go to a 12-sided cylinder for the handgrips.

Looks cool tho, but 8 sides is too low, the thing is always seen ingame"

Well, its a great model, you ever thought about posting them onto 3dkingdom.org? You get alot of good crits there, and people rate it out of 10 and theres alot of proffessional competition ;).

Thanks for pointing that out falcon, I messed up on the symmetry there. Sonic, I've been to 3dkingdoms.org but never to the forums. They have some crazy nice stuff there. I'll register over there and check it out.

Sweet, I'm not sure if that's the way it's meant to be, well, you kinda put an M4 foregrip on an M16 and even so, the M4's foregrip isn't tapered at all like the M16's is... Otherwise very nice :D

Edit: Oh yeah... the magazine bottom should be angled, and the barrell tip looks odd, normally there would be a flash supressor there.
