PLZ HELP ME SKIN HALO2

ok i would like to learn how to skin Halo 2 objects. I can successfully look at a bitmap in Adobe Photoshop CS. Thats all i can and know how to do. I would greatly appreciate it if someone is willing to show me the ropes of skinning.
