Meta/Modding Tutorial
I am currently thinking of hosting a tutorial session on IRC (freenode)...It would be schedualed later at night, probably Saturday - Monday...I don't know about this weekend, as its rather short notice...If I could get some of the other experienced people I know to help, that'd be great, if not, we'll see how it goes...
I've been thinking about doing this for some time, and lately there seems to be alot of questions about modding, and people just aren't reading the tutorials, or aren't understanding them...For my sanity, I'm going to assume the latter of the two...
I plan on this being a general question and answer session (very moderated of course), how much so will depend on the turnout...(It can be a much more open atmosphere if only a few people bother showing up)...However, turnout will probably reflect whether doing this is useful or not...
The questions and answers will be modding related, and will assume you've read the tutorials, and at least have a general understanding of offset swapping...I think there are plenty of tutorials that can get you this far, and if you honestly can't understand to that point from reading, you probably shouldn't be modding (no offence ;o)...I will gear it towards meta modding though, using a hex editor, not tools...I think tools are a great thing to have, to make your life easier, once you know what your doing...They're not a crutch to do the work for you so you don't have to understand the basics...
As such, questions about specific tools will probably be disregarded (again, depending on the turnout, and if other moderators who are familier with these tools are interested in helping)...
If you have any thoughts on this, feel free to post them here...(No, I have not set a date yet)...
Hopefully after this, a good number of you will have a better understanding of what meta is, what its used for, and how this can be of use to you...

Can't please everyone...With a 3-4 hour time range here in the US, and 5+ hour difference to Europe, its impossible to get a time that works well for everyone...This time was convinient for both myself and dmauro, so we went with it...
(I'm on 5 hours sleep right now, with 8 hours of work ahead before the tutorial, we all make sacrafices!..) ;oP
