It WAS the only way to get offsets for map files Way back when... it also allowed those who wished to extract Targa-format images, instead of dds-format textures... The proggy also allowed for easier use of PfhorSlayer's Halo Map Expander. I suggest that if you've never used, nor heard of HME, to fool around with it. It was, for the longest time, the only app that could get info about halo map files. (And, it can extract xbox map files so you can edit them).
