I don't know why they called it a hek screen. Well to me (and this is just my opinion) it looks like a map built in 3d studio max because that is what it says at the top. And anyone can make a map. I see nothing that says hek or anything related in this picture.

To have 3d studio max come with hek that would be kind of stupid because of 3 reasons.

1st, you can get that program already so they would be adding in a program that is not necessary.

2nd if they did offer it they would have to charge for hek because 3d max would sue them for releasing the program for free.

3rd. 3d studio max runs from 200-600 mbs so that would take a while to download for people on 56k modems.

3) is wrong, as Sapien is also a big filesize, or the whole HEK.
Go search cortana.org for the info about HEK.

I searched contra.org and looked at the hek specs. It says that you need 1.2 gigabytes of hard drive space. Now I did not see how large the file size of the download is.

When you download something and install it. The file you download is always smaller than what is installed. The hek program might be around 100-200mbs, and if the file was 1.2 gbs it would take too long to download.

I guess we will just have to wait and see when it comes out to be 100% sure about all the rumors, speculations, and limitations about the program. But I think it would be nice of them to give us a real estimated time when it will be released.

Because the pictures do not help us any, maybe release what they have then improve on it and release updates of the program like Grenadiac did with sparkedit 2.5, 3.1, and 3.2.

For people that just show pictures and no actual proof of a demo or something shows that they are either;
Not as far along on hek as we think.
Or are done with it but just does not want to release it.

These are just my opinions.

That is a good point GaMe MaStErS I never though of it that way. But if that was the case why did they just not show the program they used to create it, then they would not have to import it into 3d max, and could of shown it done in there own program.

It would of just been easier, and more people would rather prefer it in the program, so at least they could take a glimpse of what the program looked like and the features.

that looks like 3dmax to me, not hek, why didnt u just PS it and make it at least beleiveable
i have to agree with spider

maybe MS is worried about too many people dl'ing HEK all at once killing bandwitdh and all that, itll also take a long time to dl the file!omfg if it takes 1.2 g plus the 1.5 gig of halo thats almost 3 gigs add in the 3 gigs of halo stuff i already dl and thats 6 gigs! omfg!
