Looking for editors

Post by BEEF!!! »

Excal wrote:I'm just looking for some editors/writers who would be willing to do some story writing for HaloMods. We really haven't had any good stories on the main site lately... mostly stuff about development here at the site. As our community grows, most people don't take the time to visit the main site anymore simply because it has nothing of interest to the users. With a team of editors and writers, we can publish different stories about what goes on here. Some things I'd like to have the writing team do would include Interviews, Mod Reviews, and and whatever else you might be interested in writing for the site. You can apply by simply posting in this topic or emailing me (email address is in my profile). You can apply as long as you meet the following requirements:

-Must be able to test out mods for at least 2 versions of Halo. (If your a PC guy, you'd be able to test out mods and maps for HaloPC and HaloCE - if your an Xbox guy, you'd be able to test out mods for Halo and Halo2 on xbox)

-Must have a good standing in the current community.

-Must have good writing skills.

-Must be able to spend at least 1 hour a week writing/testing mods (prefferably on XBC or online on PC).

If you feel like you meet the requirements and would like to become a HaloMods Editor, just post here in the topic. I'm looking for at least 5 people... so you all have a good chance at getting in. If you have any questions, just ask.

I'd do it, but I don't have an xbox or access to a PC to try out mods, so don't count me in.

I'll do it for PC/CE. One question though.

Would the editors be reviewing Outstanding/Exceptional Mods, or just random mods?

Yeah, you'll be doing stuff on outstanding/exceptional mods.

Then I'd be glad to do it for PC/CE, and I could do it for the Xbox Halo 1/2 as well, but PC/CE would be more convenient.

/me hates hooking up my Xbox sometimes. :P

Id would be able to test and review Halo2 mods in detail, especially oustanding mods. However, due to a bad connection I cant really test the maps with other people other than myself.
So even though I'd like to do it, I don't satisfy two criteria :( Tha being halo1 mods and playing with others...
Even without playing with others I can describe the experience and the balancing of the weapons but its ok if you say no, as some weeks I might be able to do heaps of reviews and others not be able to do any.

I could be a backup!

Hehe, I kind of failed at the "Must have good writing skills" in that last post.
So that basically rules me out completly now

I'm kind of looking for people with good reps... people like Gametag and Scotty are already being considered (despite some of your problems Scotty... I'm sure we can work something out).

The only mods we would be reviewing would be in outstanding and exceptional(I think thats the categories) mods right?

I would do it but I dont know if I would do a good job or not. As scotty said if someone else who gets picked cant do it. I would gladly make a backup.
