Well...this is it. Thanks, but goodbye.
I know that I've not been at HaloMods for a while now. The site hasn't really had any interesting news, and I've found a new community anyway. I'm now officially leaving HaloMods. And before those sad individuals with egos a little too big start trying to flame me, there's a good reason for this.
Whilst a lot of you may have - for some very strange reason - stayed loyal to Halo...I haven't. I now hate Bungie's guts. Here are the three crises...
- Whilst Halo 2's Multiplayer was good, the Campaign deviated too much from the original plot, and the storyline was destroyed. Whilst this wasn't sufficient enough to kill Halo for me, it was still greatly damaging. I guess this was a bit like being kicked in the nads.
- The 'Halo: The Movie' announcement. This was totally devastating to me. I absolutely loved the original Halo and its story; I was introduced one of greatest Sci-fi universes. I thought that the franchise possibly couldn't go any more mainstream, but with this announcement, I was wrong. It was like being shot in the face.
- The very worst of all, however, was the inclusion of...this 'Spartan', Nicole, in the Xbox 360's Dead or Alive 4. Good God! This really was the final nail in the coffin for me. They absolutely massacred Halo's story with this by introducing a STUPID story for this character, where she travels back in time in some magical slipspace bubble and then decides to beat up big-breasted ladies when she reaches a world with no war. Not only that, but I've heard that when she wins, she speaks like a brat, says 'that's what it's like to be beaten up by a girl'. Yeah, this was the finisher.
--
So yeah, whilst my time in Halo is over for good (I refuse to play anything Halo again), I'd like to say that I've met some good friends here, and I'd like to thank all of you who were my friends for the time I've been here. I was actually continuing my fangame, 'Halo: The Fall of Reach', but it has been canned, due to Bungie's ignorance towards their fans. I've gotta say that I'm really sorry to Xavier and his parents. I got quite far on the cel-shade port to the Xbox, but it has too been canned because of those backstabbing bastards. They ruined a perfectly good game franchise. But anyway, thanks. I'd also like to thank Grenadiac for creating this community. I've had fun times here. Good luck to you Grenadiac, in your future projects. I hope you code an emulator someday, which you envied ViperNeo for. And good luck to everyone else! I might reply in this thread to people's comments, but otherwise, I'm gone!

Sorry to see you go, Spartan.
I must agree with you on some points with Halo and how Bungie screwed it up.
To me, if feels like they sold it out with that 'Nicole' Spartan in DOA and other stuff.
Sorry to hear about HTFOR aswell, was looking forward to that game because I know how much hard work was put into it.

I think you are overacting a little too much... what you are doing is kind of like getting playboy for actually reading the articles... why must you focus so much on the story instead of the fun? I dont think halo 2 ruined the story and I dont think the movie will either, only if it doesnt use CGI. And the DOA4 thing why are you getting so worked up? Its a damn video game... and its fun. What you said was spoken like a true lives-in-the-basement-of-your-moms-house nerd.
HaloMod's Scapegoat
haha, thats siggable... i agree with jks completely... but heres a really lives-in-the-basement-of-your-moms-house nerd titbit of info.... in the halo books, only 150 spartans were created. the spartan in DOA is #482 or somthing like that. She shouldn't even exist yet, unless she is from the future of the halo universe or somthing...jks wrote: What you said was spoken like a true lives-in-the-basement-of-your-moms-house nerd.
back on topic, i agree with jks. the story wasn't ruined at all. I actually liked it, i dont know why people hated it so much ... oh well.

Um, no, not really. I'm just a true Halo fan (wait - was). You're not. I don't even think you deserve to be a moderator here as all I can see in your post history is spam; it was far better when all the ol' guys were here (though a few decent people remain). I have a life. And I have a girlfriend. And for once, I'm happy. And of course I live in my 'mom's' house as I'm still a student.jks wrote:I think you are overacting a little too much... what you are doing is kind of like getting playboy for actually reading the articles... why must you focus so much on the story instead of the fun? Anyway, I don't want to start an argument here. Let's get back on topic.

I concur.Kirk wrote:The halo 2 story kicked ****. I liked it more than the original.
Also dont worry i dont care how much you hate bungie, halo is adictive, which
means Spartan will be back, if not for halo 2 then for halo 3. about the DOA game. Its like the robot in tekken. I think its cool i dont see a spartan doing those moves but its cool anyway.

It will benefit me because I'll be playing games by developers who believe in - and place trust in - their fan database.Kirk wrote:Not sure how that will benefit you, but whatever. Go ahead.Spartan III wrote:Thanks everyone, and...
