I just thought i'd tell you guys that in a week or two the first public demo will be released. If you don't know what the hell i'm on about, or thinking "wtf" then here is a link to the old post. http://www.halomods.com/forums/viewtopi ... highlight= Although i think that the site hoster i put the screenshots on might of deleted them. Expect the demo to have grunt eliminating objectives, one useable weapon (at the moment) and teleports. And a ghost. And the public demo will not be based on the book in any way.
Sorry it won't have marines on your side in the demo coming up, the AI (artificial intelligence) is way to hard to program quickly, so expect them in the next demo.

I will reply to this post/make a new thread when the demo's complete.

Ok, first, I would tell Microsoft you are doing this. The fact that FanFics are illegal should tell you that thiss will be illegal!!!!!!!!! And anyway, Microsoft will probably make a game of this in the future!!!!!!!!!! I mean, this would be an awesome game, cause alot of experimental weapons and stuff can be in it. And the shear size, litterally millions upon millions of grunts (in the offical book) would be kinda hard to make now. I suggest you tell Microsoft, if they press charges than delete ur junk or give it to them. Dont ruin a good game that hasnt come out yet.

Its not illegal to make a fan made game of an official game if u dont sell it for profit, 343gs.com would have been sued or something long ago if it was illegal since they are making a halo based game too and there is that pelican game thingy at HBO somewhere. I look forward to playing your Halo game when u release it.

it may not be illegal, but game companies have shut down user made mods like this in the past. i can't come up with a specific example without doing some searching, but i know for a fact that one mod that was doing a mod, was shut down by a game company that was planning on doing a new game that was basically the same as the mod being done. i can't say for sure, but i think it was a mod for a new quake or doom game, and either the makers of quake or doom came in and shut them down, cause they were planning on doing a sequel. like i said, i'd have to do some searching, but it's happened before, it can happen again

but like darkstorm said, i doubt microsoft / bungie would release sequels / prequels based on the books, so they should be safe

I'm an idiot. I just re-read the post and have seen that the DEMO will not be from the book. That's all Super-Kool, just so long as the game is.

Uhh, if you would've been reading, ONLY THE TESTER ISN'T BASED ON THE BOOK.....guh. Anyways, there isn't anything illegal about it, you'll get an Assault Rifle and get to use a ghost .

In response to maca_(weird symbol thing), yeah, sorry you got confused with that other topic i made, anyways, less than 2 weeks, and you will be playing the first demo. It won't be that long, but'll demonstrate the basic gameplay, and the second demo will probably be the first level of the game, which should be out in the next couple of months or so...

In response to Spartan-104, it's a "pure piece of fanboy coding" and not a mod or new game etc. If you want the very crappy first screens, which needed textures adding, go to the official site of the game. www.halo-tfor.vze.com

The demo i am releasing will be the first public beta.
Sorry if i am letting you down but you'll only be able to use an Assault Rifle in the demo, and you'll only be able to kill grunts.
One good thing about it is you'll be able to use a Ghost, and that has it's Plasma cannon things anyway.

But anyway, the first demo is a taster of the average gameplay, although the demo will not represent the quality of the full game. Remember, in demo #2, you will be able to use multiple weapons, and it will be the first part of the book!

Fair enough! Eep...i have one week left. Better work hard. I have been having a lotta breaks lately. Like changing the music in T+R. Okay, no fun, just work. I am promising myself at least 2 hours every night, totalling up to about 14 or so hours....whoa! Oh wait, an extra few hours thrown in for tomorrow and Sunday as it's no school then of course!
