Picture Hosting

Post by cerium »

So you have just finished that mod of yours and you know how popular it is going to be so whare are you going to host it? Well there are several location that you dont even need an account for. Well a lot of people would go to photobucket and shure they will host it but they have perty bad hosting as far as free stuff goes. Well may favorite is http://www.imageshack.us/. Here are the limitations:

File size limit 1024 KB
File types allowed: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, swf (Flash);
Images that have not been accessed in over a year will be deleted.

THis lets you host almost any immage for as long as you want so go host at better places like theres so you can show off your mod to more people without worying about bandwidth.

How about this: use http://www.photobucket.com/ .

No filesize limit, no bandwidth limit (as far as I can tell), most types of pictures are allowed.

Look i was looking at some pictures that were posed about a nice looking mod but i could only see a few of them because most were blocked with "Photobucked: Bandwith limit reached pictures" Well if you dont care then fine but i know thet when if found this list or free sites it really helped me because I didnt want to have to sign up for anything. I almost never have a pic that is larger than 1meg or not jpeg. So if it donent help then ooh well. Doent cost you a thing maby somone will find some use for the info. Oh and here are photobucket limits (for free of course):
Storage Space 25 MB
Monthly bandwidth 1,500 MB
Max image size 250 KB

Ya ok, I know what your trying to do, but there is already a sticky about image hosting here. You could just post your ideas there if you want to..
http://www.halomods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5747 .. this is the photobucket tutorial sticky.

http://www.halomods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5464 ..this is a sticky on setting up avatars and sigs up, so someone already beat ya to it man. I'm not saying what your doing is wrong, just a little late.
