Here at Halomods, the admins are always trying to come up with ideas to improve the experience of a user being on Halomods. One of the big issues in Halomod's security is Moderators. We have heard it all when it comes to moderators. "They don't do enough", "They are to strict" , "They aren't strict enough" , and most of all "I WANT TO BE A MODERATOR!". Man if i had a nickel....
Ok, so here's you chance to change all that. We have developed a rank for the first time in files.halomods.com's history. We call them, The Arbiters. If you don't know, you probly shouldn't be one
One of the big problems is that Admin's need to investigate people before they can be moderators. We feel that the best way to do this is to see if they can do the job. Before, the only way we could investigate is to look at there posts, and ask people what they think of them. This system will give Admin's a far better view of people that can be moderators.
The Arbiter's duties are as follows:
1. The Arbiter will be like a moderator in training. They will be required to follow all moderator rules of conduct.
2. The Arbiter will be responsible for seeking out flamers and spammers as per the rules stated in the Universal Halomods Rules.
3. The Arbiter will also need to handle situations if possible as they arise.
4. The Arbiter will be granted access to the invisible Moderators forum so that they can post problem users for strikes.
It is important to note that, although The Arbiter's will have the authority to warn anyone about reporting, that they will not BE a moderator. If this Arbiter has shown that they can handle what it takes to be a moderator, they will be moved up to moderator status, however, if this person begins to become inactive their moderator status will be revoked.
The end decision on becoming a moderator will still be left up to the admins, but now it will be far more efficient to make people moderators and know that they can do a fine job.
I need to make it plainly clear that we do not want people that are just "there all the time." A moderator is chosen for his ability to handle situations in a reasonable adult manner, not his frequency for being on the forums. We would very much like active people though.
I will be choosing the initial Arbiter's in the next few days. You will recieve a PM from me with an offer to be one after i have checked your posts. I will also make a thread in the suggestions section where you can state your case of wanting to be an Arbiter-moderator. Please do not just say, "I WANT TO BE A MOD", I have heard it enough.
I hope that with a good Arbiter's team to go along with our moderators we can lay a more complete field around Halomods mods. and continue to make it a better place.
[edit] ARBITER's Chosen:
This was a very difficult decision as we wanted to pick more of you, but the plan only calls for five. The voting committee has chosen these members because of their ability to handle situations, and how often they are active. Now if you
