Halo 1.05!

The Halo 1.05 patch is out, please note that no no-CD patches will work. I'm posting this at 9:22 p.m. GMT -7 so do the math. I'll read up on what it fixes and edit my post.

EDIT: Halo Hot-Fix v1.05: The Halo for Windows v1.05 Hotfix addresses a rare crash bug that could occur if a malicious individual (hacker) purposely sends a malformed packet to a game server. In addition, it incorporates fixes to resolve compatibility problems with Windows XP SP2 and certain 256MB video cards, which could cause the game not to launch, or not to display chat messages. This hot-fix changes the version number of Halo for Windows and the Halo for Windows Dedicated Server to v1.05 from v1.04.

What this means: They added more ripped CD keys to the banlist, and fixes an SP2 bug.

I'm pretty sure that that's for the mac. Not sure though, but it looks that way.

Cracks has a negative connotation... call it a game fix or a no-CD patch because cracks are for people too retarded to buy Halo PC and attempt to rip it with a CD key that works 1% of the time. Anyway, they'll come out with the 1.05 no-CD soon. Don't ask who "they" are, and don't ask how I know.

I think I may have managed to get Halo working with no-cd, and the 1.05 update:

1. Download and install the 1.05 update.
2. Copy over the halo.exe from the 1.04 no-cd patch.
3. Run Halo!

Halo seems to run and you can view the game list, or run your own. It's 11.20am in UK at the moment. The game list seems rather short, maybe it's down to the patch bodge, or just needs US to come online! I was able to start a game myself, but no-one joined. Again maybe down to time of day. I'll try again later!!!
