Xbox360 and Revolution for me, same as last time (Xbox1 + Gamecube). I am an old nintendo fan along with xbox
... And Revolution being able to DL old games to the console to play....is just awesome for people like me. Xbox360 continues to be my fave...due to the halo series and PD:0 and other games =)
Death to Sony

Death to Sony
Random, but M$ actually wrote an interesting paper how Sony's showing off nice specs but not delivering here. They fib the numbers a little but make some interesting points.Dan!! wrote:I'm getting a PS3. It's far superior in hardware and in games. Not that I wouldn't like having Halo3 and PD:0, just that I'd like far more things on PS3.
I'll probably end up only being able to afford a revolution though. =/
And Sony's even announced any games at this point? Cuz if so, I haven't heard about 'em...

MS didn't write that. It's a reworking of http://www.majornelson.com Sony vs. XBOX thing. Which has been torn apart plenty of times because it's just lazy guesswork.
I'll just quote someone else, because I'm lazy:

CPU
Major Nelson's chart of a 1 teraflop Xbox 360 CPU is false. Official specs confirm that is collective processing power of the Xbox 360. Including the GPU. Once again, like I've said several times, a GPU that's suppose to run extreme specific and unflexible programming at insanely fast speeds. GPUs runs circles around CPUs in terms of pure speed. If you take what his chart says, that means each core can do 333GFLOPs. Lies and a house of them, considering the top-of-the-line G5s dual-cored at 2.7GHz can manage about 25GFLOPs. And those run 8 processes at a time. The TC may be faster, but not that much. You don't extract that much power by moving into in-order processing, adding a core, downgrading to two threads at once and raising the clockspeed. And Cell has 9 general purpose processors, not 1, that fucking dipshit. Considering the SPEs can be configured to run different codes and Altivec-derived instruction sets, I'd say they're general purpose. The reason they have no cache is because they're using the much more flexible and exact local memory, which adds up actually to have more storage than the 360 CPU.
GPU
Do I even have to look at this section? ALL OF IT'S SPECULATION AND GUESSES BY NELSON. Really, do you think that a next-gen GPU by nVidia would be slightly better than it's 6800 Ultras (which is pretty much what he's saying through all that perpetual bullshit) when one of them can outdo two?
Memory Bandwidth
Way to only include the main memory bandwidth for the Playstation 3, yet toss in the 256GB/s EDRAM that the CPU has no access to. Oops.
totally agreed.gmp_gmp wrote:Xbox360 and Revolution for me, same as last time (Xbox1 + Gamecube). I am an old nintendo fan along with xbox... Need I remind you that Major Nelson works for Microsoft?Dan!! wrote:MS didn't write that. It's a reworking of http://www.majornelson.com Sony vs. XBOX thing. Which has been torn apart plenty of times because it's just lazy guesswork.

What are you on about it was his company that made it, so of course he got money of it, although it wouldn't have a made any difference to his Bank Balance since he has so many Billions just sitting there.Excalibur wrote:Too bad Bill Gates didn't make a penny off of Xbox. =\
I reject your reality and substitue my own!!! - Mythbusters
Clearly Because of what his 'friend' said. Since it's his 'friend' said it the statement must be true.HunterXI wrote:Random and delayed point, but off of what are you basing both of those arguments?jks wrote:All of my friends are saying that Xbox 360 is gonna be a rip off... so Im getting a PS3 first... its just so much better.
Never mind the fact that the 360 will be cheaper from the start and it is likely that games may also be cheaper. As they are using DVD's which are now much cheaper to make. Rather than the Blu-ray discs that can't even be spelled BLUE-ray because of some copyright/trademark dispute it would cause.
Well, Im a tried and true playstation junkie before my devotion to the xbox, it was the first system I ever played and I get that nice nostalgic feeling whenever playing, like for instance the first Ratchet and Clank. I just feel that the PS3 will be better though I aim to get them both in due time.

HaloMod's Scapegoat
If you read magazine articles... you would know that the money he made off Xbox was just enough to cover the price of making all of it... so technically, he didn't make any profit.Viper2004 wrote:What are you on about it was his company that made it, so of course he got money of it, although it wouldn't have a made any difference to his Bank Balance since he has so many Billions just sitting there.Excalibur wrote:Too bad Bill Gates didn't make a penny off of Xbox. =\
