Do you think Users should be shut down/merged?

I take it most of you are stating opinions on a matter you have not researched. I know raven goes to the files forum, but the majority of you that say you hate it don't... well there's your problem, you go there, see a thing that's bad and think the entire forum is that way...

As for the staff being merged, they already kind of were... it's just that some staff go to one forum and others the other forum, if they don't go to this forum kind of pointless making them a mod/admin...

Once again, a huge reason I dont want this to happen is cause of people I hate over at the FF's.

Answer this....Why is Veegie not banned still?

Halomods is fine the way it is, I really think you should leave it. Changes are good, but huge changes like this make me say "No wai!"

I agree with multi-genre. I like the system, and I like helping out new people, but if there was one single forum that got 100 identical posts a day the forums would not be a good place for people that want to contribute something.

And if we don't need new staff in the forums that is just another reason not to merge.

im for keeping it how it is.

i visit both forums regularly and it works out fine. i think merging it all together would be too chaotic and just....eww

and i can see how people dont like veegie, but from what i hear hes not bad. (just dont say anything stupid

)

I'm still a little edgy about the idea.
If they were merged I feel I would be a lot less active, I see the point of merging them I just don't know at the moment.

I guess it all comes down to how your actually going to do it.
How would the forums etc will be sorted?
Also, would our posts carry over?

Well I also had an idea of just having both forums locked and starting a new, unified one in both their places. So you could have all the old stuff archived just in case people need to go back and grab something or check something out. Maybe switching to another kind of forum software like IPB or SMF would be a good idea as well... but that's just me.

No... both forums can be merged completely.... its not impossible.. in fact, its pretty far from impossible. It's more difficult than anything, but it can be done.

I think that the only real way Halomods can significantly improve is if the forums are merged. The combination of the two forums will cause the members to work with eachother. After all this is a halo modding site and I can gaurantee that by merging the two forums we can get farther with halo modding.

merged forums = more activity
more activity = more progress

I like the idea above, clean start sounds good.

...Now there are going ot be complaints about losing rep and what not though... but that can be sorted out.

The way i see it, halomods will never be the same as it was, lets say 2 years ago (i joined about a year ago) but the only way we/ this site can improve is we PRAY that someone gets a working mod chip for the xbox 360 (one with ftp and such Is there already one out?) and we pray that halo 3 hurrys up. It sounds good sofar.

But the forums should not be shut down, nor should they be merged. The forums will re-bound soon enough. Also we should NOT start from scratch. the forums should be shut down for about 3 weeks where a group of select members clean up and organize all the forums. Increase the amount of A, JA's, M's. (think about those ones)

AI In mp was a major problem that was tackled, that was only made possible by dedicated users. However even though this was finished, no one really mods anymore, it seems to me at least that everthing in halo 2 that could be done is done. And only the "Big wigs" who are amazing at not just modding halo but at makeing app's and working within the maps are the only people developeing new things. The next biggest thing i can think of is makeing 100% homemade maps. not BSP injecting but 100% scratch.

So In Conclusion
Mergeing Forums = No,
Shutting Down = No,
Restarting = No,
Cleaning out and organizing = Yes.

Sad part is, a lot of dedicated people that worked on the projects of years past have moved onto other things. Halo 3 and Halo 2 on PC will hopefully revitalize the community, but a lot of the skilled veterans have left.

This seems like a personal problem to me. Nobody here seems to have any sense when it comes down to making decisions. They don't want the forums merged because of a couple people (not mentioning names) are "mean". I think the people that think this need to get a grip and face the facts. Welcome to the real world.
