It also appears that we have some extremely tacky new emblems.. NeverSHOUTnever has a new hideous Ditto emblem.. which I can only presume is meant to look ugly to make creating alternate accounts less appealing.

Someone apparently has the judgment or humor of a seven-year-old, it would seem. Anyone who created or approved that as a legitimate emblem does not deserve to be in a position to control them. It is a detriment to the system. Yeah, I know, you're the boss. That doesn't mean it's a good idea. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It's a poor choice and anyone who has any respect for the intention or work put into the emblems should agree with that. There's a very good reason why adding new emblems was a process that involved discussion, specific choices of emblem designers, etc. It wasn't something to just be fucked around with for fun. They had a legitimate purpose, and apparently someone doesn't give two shits about how things used to/should be.

It takes away from their class along with aesthetic appeal.. not there I care much anymore, but it's still kind of a pain to tolerate considering the awesomeness that the system started out with. If anything, there's just no need for these new emblems; especially if they're just going to take away from the design.

I find it disappointing that this has come up this often, that there have been so many bad decisions that we keep having to repeat these same things.

Here, I'll make it easy:
Take away the Ditto emblem. It is a horrible design. It was a horrible decision. It is horrible in the context of the design of the emblem system.
That shouldn't be hard for someone to understand.

The emblems shouldn't be so easy to guess the meaning of. There are several that are just incredibly obvious, such as the new 360 one or the "Ditto". That takes away the fun of it, don't make the symbol a dead giveaway.

They have the ability, so they think they need to use it. They're going to keep flooding the market with emblems, emblems are going to have no meaning just giving them out, making a bunch of new ones that are stupidly easy, giving emblems to people who don't deserve them, etc. We are watching as a group of people ruins the emblem system, and they don't seem to care.

Again, I repeat, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

We have the mentality of people doing things who aren't in touch with the community or fundamentals of the site here. It's going to be like this until the site goes down, which is rapidly approaching by constantly making these bad decisions that negatively affect the community's outlook...

Seriously, is it that hard to try talking to people who have been here for years, who have a little more insight into the nature of the site and its community? The people calling the shots are simply out of touch with the community, and it is being made more and more apparent with every change that is made.

There are still a lot of good designers out there, as well as existing designs. Use the good ones that are already available. Also, another hint: A big part of emblems is AMBIGUITY. They look mysterious and they have mysterious names. There are a few exceptions, but right now there have been two added, and they're both horrible at being ambiguous. It's basically just saying "HEY LOOK AT ME I'M OBVIOUS AND NO FUN."

I think the 360 one looks fine as-is, but I agree with the Ditto emblem.... also, people are saying it's so easy to tell what it stands for: is it for making a duplicate account? If so, wouldn't that end up encouraging such an act -- which is the opposite of what we are trying to do?

The current 360 one is bland, gray, and a large icon. It does not fit the style of the other emblems, and it sticks out because of it.

If the other emblem is for alternate accounts, which I'm sure it is, it doesn't detect them automatically based on any kind of IP thing, which makes me think it must be assigned manually, which makes it an incredibly stupid emblem. Basically, there's either some person guessing as to who has duplicate accounts, or it only goes to people who openly admit to duplicate accounts that have been seen by whoever gives out the emblems.

Either way, stupid emblem if that's what it's for, and even if it's not, it's ass ugly and completely out-of-touch for a forum based on modding a mature game.

Emblems aren't designed to be funny. It's idiotic. It's a damn Pokemon emblem. Let's use the Teletubbies emblems while we're at it, just kill the emblem system right here and now. Honestly, what goes through your mind to assert that a Pokemon emblem is a good thing for this emblem system? Your idea of the emblem system is wrong. It goes against everything the emblems should be.
Best part is, one person agreeing with mean it stays, and countless disagreeing isn't enough to sway an opinion. gratz
