Some of the latest developments
Good job James. For some of the naysayers out there, perhaps some explanation is necessary.
The box demonstrates one of the first animations imported into Halo. This opens the door for a multitude of possibities. Weapon animations, vehicles with spinning wheels, landing gears, etc.
The gun, although primitive, demonstrates creating a totally new weapon from scratch. It is not a modified AR like some of the other mods people have done, it is built from the ground up with new tags. The tricky part is getting the nodes set (something which will be covered in a tutorial that we are still working on. Keeping the weapon from falling through the level, getting the weapon to cast a shadow...these are some of the problems that are being overcome.
James didn't spend a lot of time on the models because that isn't the hard part. The difficult thing is getting these to work in-game. Trust me, what you see is very cool stuff...the pretty things will come later.

hmm that animation thing mayb we could be able to place scenery thats a boat and u could place it on the water line in a map with water and rocks back and forth........ kool
These fractional multiplications curb the exponential growth of some Cuil calculations and recognize the fact that as things get weirder to us they also become more intensely real. http://cuiltheory.wikidot.com/mathematics-of-cuil
All that stuff is cool but what realy puzzled me is when the banshee disapeared. I thought they were showing how they can make objects besides bipeds portal through teleporters. Which would be awesome, instead of seeing green crap you actually see where the portal leads to and it looks like a door open to a different wolrd, then also you could be able to throw grenades and shoot through the portal, now that would be awesome. But the disapearing still puzzles me since they didn't say that was part of their advancements. (That would be awesome though, dreams of shooting through portal in BG at the other portal from the red base)
What is real in our infinite alternating perception of reality?

Not to burst your bubble, but at this point it wouldn't work to use as an object that you can interect with in a multiplayer. The problem is that the animation information is not sent over the network, it is just a local animation. Tried this with a teeter-totter (or a see-saw, whatever part of the country you're in) last night. The host computer saw the animation perfectly and could jump on the see saw and "ride" it. When someone would join the game, the see saw would not by synched up so the person who was riding the see saw would appear to become glitchy...falling on and off the see saw randomly and jump all over the place. This only happened on the computer that was not hosting...the host computer continued to see the animation fine.Dark Cloud wrote:And this could open up possibilities for an elevator in MP! Have the animation go up and down to the desired height, etc., and then have it stay at each level for a second or 2, before reversing direction and continuing on its circut/path.
