I could host it.. I think.>_>.. no really, but, if not that, just switch servers.

If not, then just change servers.

Actually, my Dad only has $2.06 in his PayPal account.
I'll add some money later then donate.

Let Hizlo and Grenadiac do the negotiations. Constantly repeating the same thing isn't going to change anything.

Support doesn't hurt. You would think it would probably be the best idea out of them all at the moment. Nobody wants to downgrade anything and i'm sure most members here don't want anymore pop ups.

Also, I don't think it would qualify as a constant repetition.

I want to downgrade something, bandwidth. When you're only using a tenth of it, there's no reason to pay for so much. You're overgeneralizing and putting your idea on top of the rest. Keep the discussion open, don't treat your suggestion as the only one.

I never said it has been constant repetition, I was referring to people continuing to do it in the future. Three people suggesting the same thing accomplishes nothing.

Well we could split up the site, as in have the site pages on some ones server, then have FileFront accounts for uploads. If you need any space for uploads pics ect then I know multiple people who can help with massive amounts of server space.

Well, to start Halomods could host all of it's images off-site. Because the size of the avatars, emblems, and forum button images multiplied by the number of people seeing them probably makes for a large percent of the bandwidth consumed.

Meh.

The content has nothing to do with it.
He pays for 2.5TB.
He uses 200GB.
About 1/12th of the available is used. It could be downgraded to even 500GB and still be way in the green.

If that's true, I'd suggest just cutting it down to one terabyte. If that doesn't do it, just do 500GB, like you said.

But really, I see no problem in possibly shutting down HaloMods for like, a month or something, to get things in order. Modding is sort of slow at the moment, anyway.

Eh, I was just taking a stab at it. Apparently I don't know as much about web hosting as I thought I did. >_>

I'd hate to see HaloMods go down. I'll definitely donate this week.
Good luck Grenadiac =]

If the site has to be shut down for a while to keep your finances in the green, don't hesitate.

Not that I need to tell you that, you're not stupid. I'm just saying don't feel bad about it, as others have stated... there's not an awful amount of modding actually happening at the moment.

It's nice to see that he's concerned about the community. I don't want to repeat suggestions since I'm not sure what else could be done.

I hope I don't have to get a new homepage. :(

I'll help in any way I can that doesn't directly involve forking over money. I don't have nearly enough bandwidth to handle the forums, but if there's anything smaller that can be outsourced I'd love to help. I'm also going to be getting some new parts to complete my dual purpose server/desktop, which could definitely be put to some use with bigger tasks (2GB RAM, 1TB SATA hard drive, dual 2.0Ghz Pentium).

Again, anything I can do, let me know.
