I get functional gifts. My parents got me a lot of deoderant and a Mattress Pad heater(Grerat because its dropped down to the low 40's, high 30's, and since this is southern California, the house isn't built to retain heat.) My sister got me a lot of cool stuff from Japan; a Handmade Puzzlebox, an iPod dock, (not as fancy as Voltage's, but good nonetheless) Apple Juice and other drinks I liked from the Judo-Hambiki(The Vending Machine) from the end of their street, and another set of headphones. Grandparents gave me a book, and a couple Tee Shirts.

i didn't get much. having to move to michigan in another 2 months is putting a strain on the checkbook. anyways, i used a bunch of bestbuy giftcards that were lying around and that i got for my brithday to buy a !GB stick of Corsair DDR RAM. the type with activity lights on it. (the first 2 pics here)
Then i got a $100 bestbuy gift card, which i'm planning on using to buy another stick of the same model so i can put them in dual-channel mode.
other than that, i got a handheld sudoku game (meh...) a razor (i already have one... one of the razors you shave with.) and 2 movies (meet the parents & meet the fockers).
anyways, here's what i bought my mom: a pair of slippers to walk around the house in, a 16-month calendar with great pictures from different national parks (she likes camping) and a silver bracelet. i've yet to celebrate christmas at my dad's house on his side of the family yet, so i'll update you guys on what i get there.

ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

That is an excellent movie; one of Tommy Lee Jones' best performances.Captain Cornflake wrote:The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
I got subscriptions to Wired Magazine and Make: Technology on Your Time, a $30 Borders gift card (which I used to buy 'Mathematics for 3D Game Programming and Computer Graphics' by Eric Lengyel), and $200 in cash which will help me buy either a Wii or a PS3 (I know the decision seems easy: Wii. But Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII look incredible, plus I'm getting impatient and PS3's are cheap on eBay).

Thanks, man. I love this thing. ^_^JK-47 wrote:Very nice iPod station speaker thing
EDIT: I might be getting a new computer and a new Xbox 360 tomorrow. Damn, this year was a good Christmas for me.

Needless to say, I'm pretty happy at the moment. Most Christmas's, the best thing I get is a video game... Wow...
Hopefully I'll be able to actually give next year rather than just receive.

A 360 and rainbow six vegas.
Although my 360 seemed to have burned/carved a circle into the disc itself so it no longer works... anybody ever heard of that happening before? I'd like to know if I can take it back and get a refund/exchange...
But I purchased Viva Pinata with other money, so it's all good.

I have heard that the 360 can mess up games if you move it while there's a disc in it, especially if it's on while you do it. But I've never heard of it carving a hole in a disc; did you shake it violently while it was running?Excal wrote:A 360 and rainbow six vegas.
