A new Halo game...
if you really want to make your own game, use a game that has supported mod tools... like halflife... I only say HL because I attempted to make my own mod... It was called "Insane HalfLife DeathMatch"... It got put up on planethaflife.com back in its unstable beta form... I ended up releasing it as a semi-unfinished mod. It works fine, though...

Hmm......using Worldcraft is pretty much hard.
I remember when i attempted to make Halo Doom 2, and i didnt get very far. All i managed to do is edit the pistol animations to be Halo's pistol.
Think about that with a 3d model, it would be ten times harder.
If i could make a mod, i would, but i can't, therefore i am making an original new game. Besides, if it were a mod, people without Half-Life
wouldn't be able to enjoy it, just think about that!

If I "get sued", I "get sued". Do you know there is a huge community for Sonic fangames? None of them have been sued, therefore, i shouldn't be sued anyway.....
ps. anyone with links to Halo midis or anyone with art or spriting skills, please post.
HELL YEA!!!! that the kind of spirit we need around here.

A demo might take a while, i have two things to work on.
Super Solid Dino Smash, a platformer which is quite addictive (and nearly finished) and Halo: The Fall of Reach of course.
Maybe i should work on SSDS now and when it is complete solidly work on Halo: TFOR. Maybe that would work. Online play should be put in, and a demo should appear Q1 2004 *tries to sound proffesional*.
The camera will be a little like Cannon fodders, but zoomed in.
Also, i wouldnt mind borrowing some sprites from the Halo flash game (the first person one) as i am gonna make first person minigames!

Looks pretty good. It's nice to see intelligent modders/programmers/hackers under the age of twenty. So many people your age just don't have the maturity nor the ability to do this kind of thing with dignity. Keep us updated.
Also, like you said, Microsoft isn't going to bother prosecuting people who aren't benefiting finacially nor hurting them finacially. Actually, you're inadvertently advertising for their product, so I'd bet they like seeing the kind of thing you're doing. Just don't start selling it. That's when the Bad Thing happens. :)

Yeah, thanks for the comments. I am gonna work pretty hard on the game soon, but making teammate and enemy AI will be really difficult, along with online play. Like you say, Microsoft wont care and the chances are, they'll never know about it.FormerCide wrote:Looks pretty good. By the way, in reply to someones post, (cant remember the user, he asked about what tool i use) I use Multimedia Fusion.
It may not be solid programming, but every command you put in inserts a code, so its programming. I wont sell the game obviously anyway, and i hope to give more screens soon.
ps. If anyone can send me the pj64X emulator or VBAX emulator for Xbox on MSN messenger, please PM me.
By the way, about the AI, a simple way to do the AI for regular enemies would be to have them shoot an object in your characters direction every fe seconds or sumthin and to have them originaly be moving in your direction(I usualy had an object that dissapeared as soon as the game started shoot the enemy object in the direction of the players character and then maybe every few seconds have them change direction to your character again so they like follow him and to make sure that they have to go a different direction when they bump into obstacles or somthing.
What I just said I might have confused a little with the games factory, a similar program made by the same company but pretty much the same.
