actually, in the fine print of the xbox they specifically state that they can take back the xbox at any time, and that you are only leasing it. at least, that's how it works in the united states. at any rate, thats why i have refrained from buying a mod chip. also, its illegal

Not true, I own a modchip and it's perfectly legal. The software I use may not be legal but the mod is. Running a Cromwell BIOS with any Xbox Linux Kernel is perfectly legal. And what you said about leasing the Xbox, that's not true either.

lol, trust microsoft to try and keep control of it even after you pay for it....... Only problem with the "leasing" theory is they don't have any names unless you pay for it with plastic. and i used cash

Reformat, use a magnet on the drive, and smash it into the cement as hard as you can, then try to open it up and scratch the fuck out of it, that should probably do the trick.
