actually, you are maybe wrong about the spartans being there...

yes, i believe they will feature in halo2 myself, BUT, we would have no idea

yes yes TFoR does leave it open that spartans could have gotten away, entirely possible, but unlikely, John was very very very lucky, just in time in fact, others must have been just as lucky to get off the planet, or in the case of some spartans, already off the planet, remember the guy who had just enough oxygen to live, in space for 30 mins, maybe he got out?
