Yep, I agree with {ST} 117.
They probably created a huge SP campaign, cut it in half, released 1/2 of it in H2 and the rest will be in H3.
Then they'll probably do something similar for H3 MP...10 or so new MP maps, and some more remakes of Halo MP levels.
My theory is that we'll probably see H3 on this Xbox, rather than the Xbox2. Then they can put most of their focus into a new title for the next console.
Either that or they'll make some more graphical improvements to make it shine on the Xbox2 and release it as a launch title. I think that'd be the best idea for M$. There is NO better way to sell a new console than to make Halo3 a launch title.
I really do think though that 2 & 3 were in development at the same time.

Think about it...everyone is all irritated about SP, but if H3 comes out within a year or less we'll all be pretty surprised & probably give 'em a break for shorting us in H2.

how could they already have halo 3 done? are you on crack? friggin, halo 2 went gold, only like a month ago, you actually think that halo 3 would be finished by now? even close??? unless... UNLESS!!! Maybe they WERE making halo 2, but they made it HUGE, and they figured out that they wouldnt get it done anytime soon, so that had to practically cut it in half. so, maybe they didnt make a whole new game (halo 3), instead, accidentally halo 3 seeded off of halo 2, thus, they didnt have to do any work at all.

It's almost certain Halo 3 will be a launch title for the next xbox. Think about it, releasing a such an anticipated xbox game right before they launch theyre new console (2005). It doesn't make sense. Bungie should just spend the next few months finishing halo 3 (if theyre making it) and release it with xbox next (or w/e) just like they did with halo for the 1st xbox. Chances are, theyll probably another one of those uber gay ilovebees scam. And then Feb. 9 is in the end credits if u beat it on legendary (H2). Just think, maybe they'll announce H3 on Feb. 9. I'm almost positive bungie wouldnt make a stupid move like leaving a shitty cliffhanger and ditching the series. Cmon, think about it...

i know that they said that, but they didnt actualy do that. i remember on the news about 3-4 months b4 tha last movie that heaps of people were comnplaining that they were still filming and that they wouldnt gte it done on time.

i dont want microsoft to release halo 2 on the new xbox. . . in fact, i dont want the new xbox released at all! i just got my xbox over the summer, and it took my gamecube and like 2 months of work to get it, and the only 2 games i have r halo and halo 2. . . and all of a sudden i have to get this goddamn new system from those money hording bastards

just trade in ur xbox and chuck a bit of cash in with it and uve got an xbox 2! simple, xbox 2 wil be able to play the first ones games, it has to otherwise everyone will just get a ps3
