i like this site, there are a lot of cool people.

but i guess you could compare HM to a highschool. there are the upperclessmen/staff that everyone knows and they get a lot fo attention, then there are the middle men...who either are good at modding but dont post a lot or are not so good at modding but are here for the people. then you have the freshmen which can be classified as newbs or noobs. the newbs should be helped and "taken in" because they have potential while noobs like halo2playa and IIdarkownageII should just be banned.

ive only been here for aobut 6 months and i can notice its slightly slipping and i kinda wish i found the site earlier because it seems like it was a lot more fun back when there were less, but more accomplished people.

mb someone could start a thread aobut ideas to save/turn around halomods in the cafe ot something and we can start form there

[edit] i also like the idea of a pc mod revival contest

I would do something about the problems... if I could. But as usual, the person who can seems to ignore my attempts at doing so. Trust me, if I had the ability to make major changes, I would. And as for the post rank spam, I don't think it'll be much of a bad thing. I've already contacted a few guys about spamming and let them know ranks will be removed if I or other staff notice any spam. But yeah, I thought about it bringing spam too... but at a forum where posts per hour is dwindling, I don't think beggars can be choosers...

And, moving on from the whole Kirk incident, it seems that a lot of you want to see contests.. so, do you guys have any ideas for contests? (Something other than the game you want the contest to be for...)

but i would like to see a pc mod contest. something to bring it back, like... a best SP->MP conversion or best environment change....hang em high into a jungle or something...it would be something new and most likely catch more peoples eyes.

Maybe, programming contests? Where you give an application idea and the contestants have to figure out a way to make it, and the most efficient one wins?

I already have a good idea for a program/plugin. I just need a good programmer to pull it off. If it's done well enough, the plugin could be sold for a lot of money. It would be just that useful.
