Man, I remember this being the first halo forums that I ever started posting on just to get the mods. Believe it or not, most of the mods I have are Xavier's mods (lovin' the cel shaded one
) and now I'm part of the H2HQ community. Man I'll miss him; great mods, great person, in his prime.
I don't know if having a flu shot would have worked or not. Maybe he GOT a flu shot and that might have caused his demise. I've seen that happen to people with the latest flue vaccines. Anyway, Rest In Peace Xavier and may you continue to make great mods, wherever you are be it heaven, hell, another dimension, etc. I'll continue to enjoy your work and I give my condolances to his parents and family...
Man, it makes you wonder sometimes. I'm almost 16 (March 2005), it's unnerving to imagine that could happen at any time...

Wandering the scorched landscape, I look into the ash-filled sky and grip my weapons tightly, ready for the next wave...

sorry if my english ***
What about a Halo CE map to remember him?
I was thinking about a graveyard. With alot of flowers,
and a stone with his name on it and some water around it..
No weapons.
No fights.
Just to walk around there with some other people.
And what about a big wall with all his posts on halomods.com.
And all his pictures.
A wall to look at to see what a great modder/skinner he whas..
If someone would like to make this map i'd be happy. And i think Xavier will like it too.
R.I.P. man.

it is possible if the autopsy was done on the same day as the death because within 4-5 days after the virus would die and make it extremley hard to detect best place to look would be the lungs but after those days passing by the decomposition process usually starts at mild stages ergo masking over any sign of flu. i am studying to be a forensics/criminal justice major at WVU.MasterNeoChief wrote:R.I.P. About the flu, couldn't it be possible that doctors could examine the cause of death?

We are Xaviers parents.
We would like to say that we have been immensely uplifted and helped by (most) of the messages posted here (and just to reassure people, not upset about the others - the world is full of jerks).
We knew that Hugh (Xavier) was involved in halo modding and had seen some of his mods and the low-gravity video, but we had no idea that he was such a well-liked and respected member of the community. I cannot say how lovely it is to discover new things about our son and to see how he touched so many people.
In r/l Xavier was 16.8 yrs old and studying maths, physics, electronics and media studies at Hills Road Sixth-form College, Cambridge UK (in between modding). He wanted to study engineering, and hoped to go to Cambridge university. His grades were good enough that he would probably have made it. We had just come back from Christmas at his grandmother's a day early because he was rather ill with what was diagnosed as flu. We found him dead in his bed the next morning. He died peacefully.
As there has been some medical issues discussed here I should let you know that it was viral pneumonia, not flu and that the medics are hard at work to try to discover the exact details. Maybe this can prevent this happening again to another family.
If possible, we will be taking printout of some of the messages here to his funeral service, along with the signature files that you are using and other tributes from elsewhere on the Internet. I will be talking about Hugh at the funeral service and will be telling people about the son called Xavier that I never knew i had, explaining what modding is and showing them his low-gravity video. So Xavier will be commemorated as well as Hugh which we think is right and proper.
If anyone from this community lives near enough to Cambridge and wants to attend his funeral, which is on Saturday 8th January at 1 pm, can they get in touch with us via the email below. If anyone wants to email us private memories of Xavier we would love to recieve them.
There has been some discussion of a memorial. We think that you should do what seems best to you but the suggestion from bungiestudio sounds good to us. Whatever you do, can you let us know (and explain to us how to get access!). If you want a picture of Xavier for such a memorial we will be proud to provide one.
