SparkEdit Error

Post by Wizzel »

Wow, SparkeditPC has been out for less than 20 mins and already I get an Error. I am running Windows XP Pro and I get "SparkEdit Mapfile Viewer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" Any ideas?

Which map did you open? Are you running the retail version of HPC or the demo?

I have not tried to open any map... it simply gives me the error when I try and open the main program after I have extracted it... And by the way, thanks for the quick response... Any ideas?

Okay Everyone I haven't solved it but when I run it in compatability mode with 256 colors it works and all the other settings don't matter... I can switch the colors back but I don't know. Over on the gearbox forums everyone with Radeon cards and the newest Catalyst 3.8 drivers have been getting hell and it always restarts halo so I downgraded to 3.0 like everyone else and that worked but I upgraded to 3.5 because they also work but that is most likely the problem so I am gonna try 3.0 and then if I have to go back to Halo that crashed frequently, 3.8

For all those who have Radeon 8900 - 9200 and maybe above that, whose computers are crashing, download the 3.0 drivers from www.ati.com and you will be able to use sparkedit 2.0

Good Luck... and post questions here...

ehh, i had assumed (yes, we all know what assuming means.. :) ) that u had a recently made graphics card.. didnt think it would be a driver issue.. hehe, well, there you go.. halo was made for nvidia.. not ati.. (im not dissing ati.. well maybe just a little.. cause microsoft chose nvidia! ) lol, glad ur prob is fixed
