HMT 3.5 and SP->MP conversions.

First thing first, HMT 3.5 is an amazing program and we are all lucky that MonoxideC has put a mammoth amount of effort into this. However please stop asking how to make your conversions work. The tutorial supplied explains pretty much all you need to know except how to write the actual program. I personally have managed 3 map conversions, 1 indoors and 2 out, and this is really the fist time I have used HMT, so I am no modder by any means.

Second and this is probably the most important point. People do not own the rights to maps. This means that from now on no-one can stake a claim to a particular SP-MP conversion. But what is that I hear you say?, we will start getting loads of rubbish mods?. This however maybe true, but as halomods was before the release of HMT 3.5 the best mods survived the test of time and also are put into are two exceptional areas. So you cannot and I repeat CANNOT flame, bully or any essence of that kind start picking on someone because they have chosen the same mod as you. IF your mod is GOOD, it will be recognised, trust me.

Good, I'm glad we can't stake clames to a chunk of BSP, this will make me less tense while I make my conversion knowing that another person can't just say that they did it first so mines no good.

I actualy lost sleep over that last night...

On the other hand, I, the great post whore, have tried no less than 5 times already to do it, and all result in great failure. I followed them exactly down to the last byte, and I still get the same dreaded seek failed problem, as do many people. So dont write it off so quickly.

It's just luck if it works. I converted keys fine then i tried another level and no luck and another another etc. I started to get really pissed off so i thought i would try and convert the same level i converted originally but it didn't work.

What gives? i didnt do anything different. I swaer its a bug in hmt because i know 120% i did it right (obviously because i succeeded in my 1st conversion).

Anywhoo i'm tired of trying for now, can't be assed with it anymore because it doesn't work anymore, for me anyway.

i think that the seek error is just a general error, so ppl shouldnt be ashamed of themselves (that would be me too) that mono has gotten mad of this flamin complainin and bitchin, its really pissing off a lot of ppl, so its really mainly a general error i think

I never got round to SP--->MP conversions, but i'll give it a try tonight. Too bad it isn't a possibility on the Xbox version.

no, its a bug, Im pretty sure. look in the readme! Mono even stated that he was too lazy to properly code it, so he used "the biggest hack job ever" when he started to run out of time. he also stated that 3.5 is as reliable as "your mom on a 3 day crack binge"

i don't think that hmt is the problem with the mess ups in conversion. how do we know that sparkedit sin't to blame? after all, the error occurs in that. mabye it has to find certain bsps first but if gren would reprogram it............

same here (not the same levels) but i tried soooo many times and it didnt work but my friend was over the one day and he said what about so and so file and i said.....plaw.....man i am such a n00b....

try searching..thats how i found out how to fix it, idiots if you followed it exactly it will work unless its anything other than an a_bsp.there is a way around it though.you'll find it if not..your a dumbass.
