I have been staring at the help screen in the games factory for about an hour or more now and I have finaly learned how to utilize platform game physics. This is good because now I can make my halo side shooter(not the one that I released a demo of) better by making it so I don't need all the characters objects constantly moving. They can stop now, jump, and fall.
Here is an overview of the first 2 levels. The second level is likely to change alot from what I say about it today since I havent started the second level yet.
The first level you will fly into a large structure in a pelican, the structure is either a large building like a factory or a crashed ship. Inside the structure your objectives will be to find a banshee and leave the structure in it. Along the way you will fight elites and grunts and you will climb one or 2 ladders and jump across little pits and stuff. I am currently working on the ladders.
In the second level you will be flying the banshee most if not the whole time that you play the level. You will shoot down enemy banshees that come at you and at some point you will probably fly low and be able to take out some covenant ground forces. I don't know how I will have the level end yet.
I am only having one problem at the moment, and that is getting the MC's physics to work properly and have him climb ladders without getting stuck.
I saw some mega man like Halo sprites somewhere, you should try 'n' find them, as for physics, platform movements all you need for MC, and as for grenade blasts, just make him bounce when he collides with an explosion. Presto.
