a totally random idea I had at some point or another when I was half brain dead

one of the big problems in importing stuff is when the graphics get screwed up cuz the necesary metadata isn't there, so what you could concieveably do is compile two different maps together so that all the bitmap metadata is still there.

confused yet? sry, I'm not good at explaining things, but the idea came to me when I thought if it was possible to take the bsp meta from one map and put it in another (failed miserably), but as an end result, I came up with a map that had metadata fom both sidewinder and bloodgulch.

does this idea show any promise?

sometimes when you import certain things, like grunts, from a SP map to a MP map, the graphics are screwed up. This is because the meta in the grunt's files refer to bitmaps that are in a different place in the MP file than in the SP map. You could correct all of this data by hand before you imported mr Grunty, but you'd be about 6 years older by the time you finished.

so my idea is that you could in theory create a MP map without this problem by rebuilding the map with all of the components from both:

the MP map you're working with

and

the SP map you imported the grunt from

which would in theory eliminate this problem.

MonoxideC explained this somewhere (much better than I did) so if some1 knows the link plz post it

u can check by just saving a piece of meta (don't forget to check "recursive"). post about how far you get with this method .
