howver bad your link is, i do advocate a Bit Torrent solution for some of the bandwidth whoas of this site, only problem with BT is the required software to download with, is kinda ... well... its like telling a noob that he must download winrar to un rar a map file...

Bittorrent sucks. It's really horribly slow.

That just means you don't know how to use it right. Get a client like ABC. I just got Taxi Driver in 6 hours (1.2GB) (I own the movie, so it's technically not warez or piracy related). It's great for downloading large files, but one for halomods is a little too much. We just need a new server or another one or something. P2P wouldn't really work, especially with a community a lot smaller than you probably think.

I'd probably be the only one nice enough to seed anyway. :P

Not all of the bittorrent clients contain spyware.

Would you like to elaborate? I haven't had any problems with spyware or problems downloading anything.

have you actually run anything like Ad-Adware SE Personal Edition, Spysweeper, or even Spybot Search and destroy?
Youll probably find that along with your downloads, fifty pieces of spy/adware/trojans/keyloggers on you pc.

What BT client do you use Makayo? Ad-Aware Professional has NEVER found any spyware in either the original Bittorrent client or BT++. Perhaps all that spyware on your computer comes from another place, or is put there by dropper programs from the illegal warez you tried using BT to download.

I haven't run either spybot s&d or adaware since I installed Bittorent (4 or 5 months ago) and I ran it yesterday and got 4 things, 3 tracking cookies and the homepage locker that I turned on with S&D a long time ago (I don't even use IE anymore, anyway).

And S&D came up with nothing. Are you sure you didn't run into a fake site or something, like suprnova.com (instead of .org)?

yeah, i mena, bit torrent is great *huggles SN.org*
and I use Azureus, the BT client with balls.. *cough*
its customizable to NO end..

but, most people dun like BT cause its slow (depending on the torrent, and if you know how to set it up) and you have to install it, adding another program to winrar and winzip, i mean, like yeah, people will be spamming more than they already do... "how do i work it?"
"i downloaded the map into my map folder, i don't see it whats wrong"

blah blah blah...

I think bittorrent is a great program

but I wasnt aware that there were different versions, or faster versions, or that it was customizable...

if you guys could give me a link to a site that can help me to max out my dl speed i'd really appreaciate it.
