SingingBlazes Skinning Contest!

Welcome to my skinning contest. This contest is aimed at raising awareness to the importance of skinning for modding. Anyone and all can participate, however if you choose to judge you can participate but your mod will not be counted in the contest. I will be needing 5 judges including myself.

Rules


Map: Zanzibar
Theme: Open
Requirements: The level must be fully skinned and must be of a satisfactory standard and made after this contest was opened
Optional: Weapon Skins, Vehicle Skins, Minor lightmap mods, Sound Mods, Scenery Mods, Sky Mods, Weather/Water in BSP (Must Relate to skinning).
Not Allowed: Weapon Mods etc. Ripping, New Models
Submissions Open: Now, get skinning.
Submissions Close: 20th January 2007.
Posting: Create a seperate topic with prefix, skin name and author. Use the Halomods Post Generator to post skins also post the link in this topic.

This contest is open to a change in rules with viable reasons, I am also looking for good skinners to help me judge this contest. If you have any suggestions/questions feel free to ask. If a moderator could sticky this I would appreciate it, also if the moderators have a problem with me running a contest please contact me and I will take it down. Sorry if I have been an inconvenience in any way.

Note: If using weather/water the patch is allowed to be in Gemini as an other map only

I would feel arrogant suggesting i'm a good skinner, but I'd say I was a notch above the rest, so I wouldn't mind judging.

I'm too busy with a lot of things but I could be a judge if you would like me to. =D

I boosted the amount of judges to 5 as to get a more unanimous decision. You two can both judge as I believe you will do a good job, however judging does involve playing the maps.

I would love to help judge if i'm of standard . Not sure if i'd make a skin for this as i have a few other projects. But if you would like another person to help judge im available.

zanzibar sounds like it would be fun to do a 2nd skin on...I just might try this contest

I don't think it should be allowed, I think it should just be skins for Zanzibar and nothing else. If it is allowed then that's probably all you will see, a flooded zanzibar here, a snowy zanzibar there, a flood infected zanzibar with the flood spores falling. You get my point...

Why does it matter? You can see that without the water or weather, it just adds more variaty, and if people add it, it should not be taken into consideration of how they added water, but how they had changed the atmosphere, and water and weather helps do that.

I think it should be a Zanzibar BSP skin, and people should tell the basemap to apply the patch to when submitting.
So in conclusion I think it should totally be allowed, but hell, its Singing Blazes choice, Not ours.

I agree with you DeTox. Not just about the water and weather but your reasoning behind it.

I will judge. I do skin alot. But never get to releasing.. >_>.. But if you make me a judge, I will test, play and judge all users evenly. I will not vote for the person I like best. I will vote for the skin I like best. If I fail to become a judge, I will enter.

I'm an alright skinner, though most people here probably don't remember me ever having skinned. It's been over 3/4 of a year since I've done anything. I don't want to judge, but if I find time when the semester ends...
