You should try to make the transition between the two images a bit more fluid, rather than a noticeable line between the two. Otherwise it just looks like two images next to each other.

What's the 'technique'? :?

Is that a cloud filter :?

it's more of the cloud filter + the image gradient, like a color changing fog filter

and scan lines

and the first sig i've made with a border, which i've found makes a big difference

That's a bit better, but I can still see where your dead space image ends. Try to cover up the line that shows where the image ends.

how's this?

Better, but I'd get rid of the scan lines. Either that or make them less apparent.
As for the font, if you do anything with it, try to make it so it's not standing out too much. The dead space area is alright I suppose, but the star wars one isn't so good. The green makes it poke out too much. Try messing with some blending options and layer properties.

Better. Try making it a little transparent.

The two sides are just too contrasting.

Maybe use better renders and a common background?

transparency: it's already a bit transparent, but i can bring it down a bit more if you think it'd make it look better

contrast: i'll see what i can do about that tomorow, i got homework to do today

render quality: well the star wars one is from a picture that i can't find so i can't really do anything about that one, and the dead space one, i worked on it for like half a day, thats the best i can do, i don't think it's getting any better :(

well, looks like i had less homework than i thought...little bit more transparent

I say you need to start over make them individual sigs. One Star Wars and one Dead Space. That will help and try some blending tutorials.

Send me a pm if you need help I will be on aim and what not for a little bit and I should be able to help you out with what ever you need. Like tomorrow's or something.

Quite honestly, I dislike them all.

It's not all your fault, though.

Star Wars and Deadspace just don't appear to be two graphical subjects that "blend" together. Like, I'm having trouble appreciating them when they're in a common signature.

The idea of separating them was probably a good one, but the execution isn't the best.
The Star Wars signature looks... awkward? Maybe if you got rid of some space on the sides and added some text.
The Dead Space signature is too blurred, including the text. You may also want to try getting rid of the scan lines.

I'll go so far as to say that they have potential, but I just don't care for them yet.

That new deadspace you just posted is better, but I feel that the text is still to blurry/obscured.
