Run-Down house

Post by JK-47 »

I've been doing a lot of painting lately, and I'm pretty happy with what I've done with this so far:

Any last touches I should make?
I know the edges around the house are rough. I was waiting for some wet areas from the sky to dry, but I ran out of time.

Is that watercolors?
If so, nice freaking job! Watercolors are so freaking hard to work with.

If not, it's still good. :p

The facade of the house looks pretty good, and the roof seems like it's in the background, but the left side of the house doesn't seem to have much depth.
But I must say I love what you've done with those buses. Those are nice bushes. :d

Watercolors are actually my favorite paint. They're so much better than, say, acrylics. They're a little more forgiving. If you make a mistake, water fixes it all, heh.

I'll work on the shading of the roof, though. Thanks for the comment.

That's really nice but to me, the only indications that the house was run-down was the wooden boards and the slight dirtiness at the right of the door. What I mean is that it doesn't look too run-down, still looks good.

I fixed it up quite a bit.
I gave it to my art teacher for some credit, but once I get it back I'll put up a scan.

The opposite is generally true. Acrylic dries fast and if you have good paints, is fairly coverable if you mess up. <3 Acrylic

I like your painting though.

Yeah, that's true as well. I'm just more comfortable with things I can erase. I'm working on getting better with acrylics, though.
