lol, i started over, the probelm was that i was working at a 66.7 scail, so all the stuff i put in looked better at 66.7, but when it was back at 100% it looked like crap.

the halo is very blurry, and should have less opacity to it. also, in the reflection, it's kinda obvious that you tried to blur out the aliasing. >_>
the base of the halo should be wider, too.

I used a distortion filter on it, I can't remember which one, I think it was the "ocean ripple" one. I tried to make it as subtle as possible, however it didn't quite turn out the way I had hoped.
