well, a good way to start is not take a cropped image that isn't yours, I don't know much about gimp to help you.

Er...isn't that a famous photograph (Drawing, really) of the end of a civil war battle? Yorktown or Kettle Creek?

Umm...absolutely not. It's from the Battle of Austerlitz...

That's a battle that Napoleon fought in...early 19th century.
