My first Photoshop sig. I'm still learning how to use PS. If someone could post some starter tutorials on basic things and the like, that would be very helpful. It didn't really come out like I'd hoped. Help would be appreciated. Especially with borders.

It just looks like a cropped image to me.
If you made it in photoshop... then it's not really that great. I mean, I guess for a first, it's semi-sorta alright in a way.

Thanks for the link JK! I'll mess around with it and see if I can figure out some cool stuff. Will post an update of it later (I pwomise it will be better xP)

EDIT: I played around with it a bit and came up with this:

for a border:

in photoshop, open up a jpeg of the image. press CTRL+A. you will see a dotted line moving around the images area. press Edit (its next file in the top left corner of your screen) and then click Stroke...
after that set the color to what ever color matches the image, and set its pixel size (px) to 1. then hit O.K.

then resave the image as compressed jpeg, set to 56kpb/s.

Once you get them down, I suggest mixing crucial elements together, like the use of filters, techniques, and knowledge on settings and such. Feel free to experiment with the result. You don't need to follow them to the letter. Change the settings around until you find something you like.
