Hey, I have some questions that I need clarification on.
Using this sig as an example for the following questions.
1. What is contrast and how do you use it to make your signatures better?
2. I've heard of some people using the term "depth" when talking about a sig. What is it and how can you give a picture depth?
Using this sig as an example for the next questions.
3. What are filters (ie: filter whoring)?
4. How can you animate the sig without it loosing quality?
Using this sig as an example for this question.
5. How do you create a border like the one in this sig? Maybe not so soft, but with a hard metalic border.
I'm new to sigs, I wanna know how to do some stuff.
1. Well if your using Photoshop you can give it contrast by using this:
Image --> Adjustments --> Brightness/Contrast.
This is what I got when I quickly added some Brightness and Contrast:
2. You probably heard me saying give it some depth. You could probably just do the same thing as "1." for depth because it gives it...more...depth.
I'm not the best at explaining stuff, you see.

Thanks for using my sig!
And for the tech border on BEEF!!!'s sig, just find a good tutorial for tech borders. Here's probably the most complex looking one on the web: http://uniquegraphics.no-ip.org/index.p ... topic=1845
