Well it has been far too long since my last piece (firebomb and energy sword) , so I will keep this short and sweet for you all. I have recreated the Spike grenade as the title suggest, with a full scene, unbiased render, but still true to the halo "palette" .

Nothing is bump-maped, and those big scars are "jittery" because I wanted to it to seem that whatever scratched it, had a hard time staying in to create a solid scar in that porous titanium*done with a brush, so if i really wanted I could have made it solid* See with the titiamium being porous it would end up crumpling on in itself much like crumple zones in a car, so the blade or rock or whatever made that scar would get pushed out for a little bit from the titanium getting so dense, and if there was still force get pushed back in to continue the line of scaring.I was worried about how that looks but I remembered all of that little detail on it is not noise or low sampling levels, it was painstaking brush work.GametagAeonFlux wrote:It looks good, but the textures you used in Zbrush to create the bump map look a bit low quality (it looks like you used/upscaled an extremely low resolution brush on the top and bottom scratches/"scars")...but fundamentally it's pretty nice looking.
Thank you for giving me a heads up on that though, I was wondering when someone would finally point that out, seems like you have the best eye so far
